About Me

With a background in nursing, I’ve spent years supporting people through some of life’s most challenging and vulnerable moments. This experience has taught me the value of empathy, patience, and truly listening to someone’s story. It has also given me a deep understanding of how our mind and body are connected, and how emotional stress can affect our overall wellbeing.

As a counsellor, I bring this insight into my practice, creating a safe and compassionate space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment. My goal is to support you in navigating life’s challenges, discovering new perspectives, and finding a sense of balance, growth, and empowerment.

I’m passionate about supporting people in a way that reflects their unique needs. I love to keep learning—personally and professionally—which helps me bring insight, empathy, and flexibility to my practice, so I can be fully present and responsive to each person I work with.

Alongside my private practice I also provide counselling at a local Hospice, offering emotional support to individuals navigating the deeply personal journey of grief and loss. This work is a privilege, and it has given me a profound appreciation for the courage, resilience, and vulnerability involved in facing life’s most challenging moments. I have also worked with charitable mental health organisations such as Mind, supporting individuals through regular mentoring and walk-in centres. In addition, I have voluntary experience providing counselling to a wide range of individuals at a local charitable counselling service, as well as at another counselling service offering support to unpaid carers and individuals caring for those with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.

I have a special interest in supporting people experiencing bereavement and loss, and I’ve undertaken specialised training with the Foundation for Infant Loss. This equips me to provide sensitive and compassionate support to bereaved parents and individuals experiencing infertility. Working in this field has strengthened my understanding of the importance of empathy, validation, and human connection in the healing process, and it deeply informs the way I practice as a counsellor.

I find joy in life’s simple moments—walking my two dogs along the beach, spending time in nature, or curling up with a good book. I’m naturally curious, love learning, and have always been fascinated by the stories and experiences that shape who we are. I enjoy planning little adventures, connecting with the people I care about, and taking time to notice the small things that make life meaningful. These simple joys help me feel grounded and bring a sense of balance and perspective that I carry into both my life and my work as a counsellor.
